Wild Wisdom

Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better ~ Albert Einstein

It is definitely true about nature being the greatest teacher. Our members offer diverse educational experiences in the wild —for both the young and the ‘young at heart’. Check out these learning opportunities and let mother nature be your guide…

Western Educational Adventures

WEA offers unique outdoor programming for both adults and kids. Up and coming are their Spring Break Camps…kids will ditch the screens and learn important life skills such as fire building and camp cooking. Other activities include canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, archery, geocaching, crafting and more. All programs are educationally focused, which means kids will not only have a great experience, but will learn something too! Programs are available in Sooke and Victoria. Day camps and sleep away camps are available too. Learn more here.

Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort

Do you have the skills to survive in the wild? Siwash, an all inclusive luxury resort in the heart of the Cariboo, offers guests the opportunity to participate in a half day crash course of Wilderness Survival. The whole family can learn how to build a shelter in the forest, make a bow drill to spark a fire, forage for food, collect water, track wild animals, and identify medicinal plants. Once you’ve mastered the art of ‘bush craft’ you can return to your luxurious accommodation (luxury tents, lodge suites or a cozy barn loft) and plan your next activity — horse riding, fly fishing, nature hiking, marksmanship…and much much more. And did we mention the pasture to plate cuisine? Learn more here.
